Timpanogos Cave Hike - Memorial Day '07

Josh really wanted to go on an adventure on Memorial Day, instead of working in the yard all day like we usually do. We mentioned hiking to Timpanogos Cave to Cari, Jess(my sisters) and Nate(Josh's brother) and they all really wanted to go. So, we decided to gather up a bunch of little tiny kids and take them up a huge mountain and into a really deep, dark, cold cave. It was a long hike but we had so much fun and the kids loved it. It is amazing that we made it back without losing anyone off any of those crazy cliffs.

Hiking

Heart of the Cave

Here we are at the "Heart of the Cave". That rock formation behind us is the 'heart' and there is some cool story that explains the name, but you know, I didn't hear it because I was trying to control my baby who just wanted to climb all over everything. The cave tour is definitely worth the hike.

This is how Ashton smiles for the camera.
Ashton helped clean up with his mop.
While I was doing my hair yesterday, I kept hearing Ashton banging something on the kitchen floor. I didn't think it was any big deal since everything dangerous or MESSY is definitely out of his reach. I did he see leave my bathroom with this baby powder knowing it was impossible for his to twist the top to open it. After the five minutes it took me to do my hair, I went to the kitchen to find this! It was pretty funny. The picture doesn't even show how far the mess extended into the kitchen. I guess our perfect little boy was bound to get into mischief at some point, eh? I never knew such a mess could be so cute.
Of course, if Dad has a wheelbarrow, Ashton has to have one too! I don't know who was more excited about this wheelbarrow, Ashton or his dad.
Josh put this swing underneath our deck for Ashton. Such a cute dad!

Loving the Snow

Now that our deck isn't totally covered with snow, Ashton has discovered the backyard and he loves it! I can't wait for summer so he can just play out there all day long and I don't have to worry about his hands freezing off. But in the meantime, Ashton still loves being out there, freezing hands and nose and cheeks, it doesn't matter to him, as long as he can eat the snow and stomp on it and throw it and bring it inside.

Lunchtime

Ashton HAD to have his sunglasses on to eat lunch. He put them on himself.

Valentine Candy

Here's Ashton digging for candy hearts that Grandma and Grandpa Stewart sent him.

Shoveling Snow

Ashton was out helping Dad shovel the sidewalk. He LOVES the snow, just about as much as he loves the sand at the beach. Right before this picture, Ashton was swimming in the snow on his tummy.

Swimming

Ashton is swimming at Great-Grandma's house again at Thanksgiving. At the very beginning of this blog site, he was just a couple months old doing the same thing. Crazy how time flies! (He's with Aunt Cari and his cousin Brandon)

Here is Ashton with his cute cousin, Jayda, the porcupine.

First Hair Cut

Ashton got his haircut for the first time on Oct 30th. He was such a good boy and sat fairly still. He still is pretty bald but we had to get his long wispies under control. :)

Pumpkin Patch

We went with some friends to a Pumpkin Patch last weekend. It was really fun. We took a little hayride to the patch and Ashton was in heaven with all those pumpkins as far as the eye could see.

Mickey

Grandpa bought Ashton this Mickey Mouse when we went to Disneyland. Ashton carries it with him almost everywhere. It's pretty cute.

Watching Football

Whenever Ashton watches TV with Daddy, he always makes Winnie the Pooh sit on one side of Dad's lap. Only then will Ashton join the group.

California

We recently went to California for a week. It was fabulous! We got to go to the beach three times and there in nothing in this world that Ashton loves more than playing in the sand at the beach!
